The year is 1984 and Rafael Giovanni is living in a skid row flophouse in the city of angels. He is down on his luck, with serious addictions to ephedrine, vodka & orange juice, and promiscuous women. Giovanni's band, The Zoot Boyzz, has disbanded after renowned drummer, Boner Pyles died in a jetski accident. Dejected and with nowhere to turn, Rafael cruises the Sunset Strip, turning tricks and doing sidewalk chalk drawings to pay the bills. As the rock saga goes, Rafael was down on his knees furiously chalking a stunning likeness of Idi Amin onto a hot L.A. sidewalk when he heard spurs scraping the concrete
in perfect time. He looked up and towering above him was the formidable Spencer Muddley. His hair was teased to perfection. His eyeliner exquisite. His side pipe pronounced. Without missing a beat, Rafael blurted out, “You got the look!” To which Spencer Muddley responded with a pitch perfect falsetto, “Well then put down the chalk, grab ya cock, and let's rock!” And from that fateful day, the world was given a musical treasure. 37 years later, Fog Palace Records is proud to present the only known recordings of this dynamic duo, produced by Cash Bonneville, L.A.'s self-appointed “Honey and Money Man”. Enjoy this delve into Aqua-Net, attitude, and ass-kicking rock that shoots from the hip and that'll make you lick your lips!...more
